How our social anxiety Therapist Guided Program was created
MindBeacon is committed to evidence-based care. Our programs are developed by clinical psychologists with expertise in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), research evidence, and the issues we address in therapy. Our social anxiety program has recently been updated to reflect best practices and to meet changing client needs as we anticipate our world re-opening. The new program contains all new content which includes both readings and worksheets.
If you’re ready to start to address your social anxiety with the help of our new social anxiety Therapist Guided Program, here’s what you can expect:
The program is based on cognitive behavioural principles. It starts by providing information about social anxiety and the treatment approach. You’ll learn to monitor social anxiety symptoms and set goals for change. Over the course of the program, you will be introduced to a variety of strategies to work with common thinking and behaviour patterns in social anxiety, to help break the cycles that have been perpetuating the anxiety.
Before the end of treatment, and with support of your therapist, you’ll build a personal action plan for maintaining gains and continuing to tackle social anxiety. The MindBeacon Therapist Guided Program for social anxiety can be completed in 12 weeks, with new topics introduced throughout. Your therapist assigns the content that’s best suited for you. Your therapist is also available throughout the program to answer any questions you have via our secured text-based platform.
Who benefits from the social anxiety Therapist Guided Program?
Anyone who experiences excessive shyness or self-consciousness could benefit from the program.
The skills in the Therapist Guided Program can be used to test anxiety-provoking predictions, manage anxiety when it occurs, improve confidence and assertiveness, and better your ability to pursue meaningful goals without anxiety as a barrier.
