Blair Bilyk has been with Servus Credit Union, Canada’s second largest and Alberta's largest credit union,  for over 21 years. He currently works as the HR Manager of Compensation and Benefits and in his day-to-day, supports the physical and mental wellbeing of his colleagues and members.

According to Blair, Servus Credit Union initially got introduced to MindBeacon through their strong relationship with Green Shield Canada. Offering MindBeacon’s Therapist Guided Program was quick and easy to implement. As the Therapist Guided Program was covered by Green Shield Canada, they offered MindBeacon as an eligible reimbursable expense under their benefits plan. This meant that an employee would pay out of pocket, but then could use their benefits plan to cover the cost completely, making it essentially free.

Within the last year, as in-person therapy became increasingly challenging to access, the support needs of their employees increased during the pandemic. As a result, Blair and team decided to double down on their mental health efforts. They decided to move to MindBeacon’s Workplace Mental Health Program to remove the out-of-pocket expense for their employees and make the services even more readily accessible. The Workplace Mental Health Program includes providing free access to all employees who would like to access the program, as well as other offerings including peer-to-peer support in partnership with TogetherAll, access to Live Therapy, year-long campaign support for sustained awareness and communications, insight reports to measure overall effectiveness, as well as leadership and management tools to empower leaders within the organization. Since the adoption of the full workplace mental health program, Servus Credit Union has seen 49 times more utilization than the average which further proves the success of the program.

According to Blair, MindBeacon’s services are a natural fit for employees who need professional help as they can access the services when they need it at their own pace. Since their initial implementation 3 years ago, the platform has been used by a large number of employees as well as Blair himself.

Blair states:
